Drama Rama!

I’ll be the first to admit that I LOVE drama. I like watching it on my t.v., in the locker room, and online. But I’m almost always watching, at a safe distance. Because I used to be one of those girls who was constantly in a fight and you know what? It was really unpleasant and in the end it all blew up in my face. My ‘friends’ ditched me and I spent that summer crying in my room. Eventually I went back to school, got knew friends and realized that when I wasn’t constantly fighting with someone, life is pretty freakin’ awesome.

Unfortunately, those very same people who ‘dumped’ me as their friend because of all my drama are the very same people who spent their time trashing each other online. While I know sometimes a friend might have done something offensive or inappropriate that doesn’t mean it has to lead to an online cat fight. Think before you post.

1. If you have a problem with someone, don’t post or tweet about it. It’s a cowardly way of avoiding a face-to-face confrontation and it means that you’re dragging your personal issues with that person out into the open where everyone can see them.

2. Self respect girls!! Come on people! Fighting about boys over twitter?!?! I really don’t have anymore to say about this one. It’s NEVER a good idea. EVER.

3. Take the high road. Sometimes you just need to let one slide. Ending a friendship doesn’t have to be big and explosive, it can be quiet and gradual. Branch out, meet knew people, distance yourself from drama. In the end, if you’re friends with people who really like and appreciate you for who you are you end up with a lot more smile than tears.

We’d met at a carefree time, a moment full of promise; in its place now were the harsh lessons of the real world.

So You Had a Bad Day?

Sometimes people just have shitty days. I happens to the best of us. Your alarm doesn’t go off, your late for school, you failed your math test and on top of it all your arch-nemesis is acting opposite your crush in the school play. I’ve found that the best cure for a shitty day is curling up on the couch with a big helping of fro-yo and streaming the latest episode of your favorite t.v. show. It doesn’t help to mope,to cry, or to spend your time online reading sad quotes about love and listening to Secondhand Serenade songs. Because what prevents a shitty day from becoming a shitty week is the fact that we don’t let it. I’m not saying you have to constantly grin and bear it. I’m saying allow yourself time to bemoan the worlds wrong doings to you then get up and move on.

I’m not the silly romantic you think. I don’t want the heavens or the shooting stars. I don’t want gemstones or gold. I have those things already. I want a steady hand. A kind soul. I ant to fall asleep, and wake, knowing my heart is safe. I want to love and be loved.
